Highlights

• It is a 2 year course where a candidate undergoes training in practical aspects of making different types of dental appliance, prosthesis and qualify to become dental technician.
• Usually dentists make measurements of patient’s teeth or mouth and the technician then makes s prosthesis or an appliance.
• During this course the candidate learns the about human teeth, mouth and basic sciences regarding metals, ceramics and other materials used in dentistry.
• After completing the course the candidate has job opportunities as a dental technician in government hospital, railway hospital, armed forces or in private dental laboratories. They can also start their own dental laboratories.
• The digital aspects like CAD CAM, 3D printing give large scope for further developments in this field in the future
